Well I always love the fall and especially the month of November. I have so much to be thankful for and I often take lots of it for granted. Just to update you all on the Baby situation.
I had surgery last month to take care of my newly found Endometerosis. I really like the specialist I have found here in Tennessee. I took him just one visit to determine that I had endometriosis. Something my previous two Doctors didn't diagnose and it is one the most common infertility problems. So my Dr. out here was pretty sure that I was in the third of four stages of Endometreosis.
I like to look at it as I just have a high tolerance of pain and that is why all my other doctors didn't diagnose me with it. Most everyone I know with EM has had a lot of pain with it. My Dr. was really shocked that I wasn't in pain. So I have some cysts on my ovaries which was not new, but he told me they needed to be removed. So I have been on Birth Control for about four months to see if this would help remove them. No such luck. So we scheduled a Laproscopy and it went really well. Poor Joel I think he was bored out of his mind waiting for me. I think he would of done a better job being my nurse. It was taking me a lot longer to wake up then Joel wanted. I was barely coming to and he was encouraging me to get up and go to the bathroom so that they would release me. I was so tired still I just wanted to sleep. Funny guy, he did take very good care of me when we got home. The part I was most nervous for was not the actually surgery itself (Because my Dr is really good at what he dose) but for the actual being but under and not having any control. But the Nurse Anthestist did a really good job at calming my nerves. That just reassured me that Joel is really going to make a great Nurse Anthestist. He will be so good at helping to calm people down before he puts them out.
Well I have had a few check ups and this week the Dr. gave the clear to start trying again. He is pretty sure that we will have success. If nothing happens in the next 4-6 months then we will have to look at other plans but he is pretty confident that won't be the case. I'm really excited that we are so close to getting pregnant but at the same time it has been such a long time of trying and month after month of let down that I'm a bit nervous that we actual could be so close finally. Call me crazy I know.
As for other exciting news I got a new calling to be the Young Womens President in our ward here. If any of you know me very well you know I have a deep love for the Young Womans program and couldn't be more excited about being back in there. We have a great group of girls here which helps make the calling that much easier to like. I'm also really excited to work with ladies in my presidency and to get to know them better and use there strenghts and talents.
Also Joel has interviewed at two different schools and has made the alternate list at one and we are waiting to hear back from another. He has some other schools he will be applying to at the beginning of the year. I'm really proud of him and his efforts to get where he is at. I know it hasn't been a easy or enjoyable thing for him but he has got two down and hopefully not too many more to go. We really have our hearts set on the one in Richmond Virginia. Just because they have a branch in Abingdon which is about 30 min down the road from us and we wouldn't have to move. In fact we are tempted to reapply the next year if he doesn't make it this year. So keep your fingers crossed in hopes that we can be accepted there.
We our grateful for everyones continued love and support and prayers sent our way. It is what helps us to get through those tough times and trials that we have been given. We feel so richly blessed with many blessings.

Marta--Glad to hear you have some better news in the baby department. It has taken us almost 4 years to get prego with both my girls-so I know the pain each month. I've had a few cysts burst and I know that pain too! I'll pray for you guys! I'm also excited to hear that you are YW Pres! I'm 2nd counselor and in my 4th year of YW. I know you will do an amazing job! :) Jamie
Marta -- So good to have an update from your family. I'm glad to hear that surgery went well. I can see how being put to sleep would be scary.
Way to go Joel!!! It took us a couple of tries to get into PT school too.
You guys should write a book on patience. I have so much to learn from you! I truly admire you two. Here's to praying that 2011 brings spit up, sleepless nights, and maternity clothes to your house.
That was my mom's problem too and once she had surgery to remove the cysts she was able to have the four of us - so yay! Let's pray that it all works out. :)
Wow... I am happy for you guys! I am sure you will get pregnant soon. I have a friend that the Doctor told her that she will never get pregnant and she got pregnant and will deliver her 2nd baby tomorrow. So just keep trying and the Lord will know the right time. Love Josy
OH MY GOSH!! Marta!! I need to call you!! I can't believe all this NEWS!! That is so AWESOME!! I'm so excited for you and Joel!! You two are amazing and I will keep you in my prayers for sure!! Love you!!
Hi Marta! I enjoyed reading your blog and knowing how things are going with you. I am glad that the doctor found this, and hopefully this will work! :) It has taken Charlie and me it seems like forever with doctors not knowing what the problem was. I have learned to give up and not get my hopes up. I hope you don't get your hopes up either; it isn't fun as I am sure you know. But hopefully the problem is solved and then the baby will come when it is ready. :)
Marta! It is so good to get an update. I'm so glad the doctor figured that out and that you are hopefully on your way to being one of the best, mischievous mothers ever :)!!! You and Joel will make awesome parents and we'll pray you have that chance sooner than later! Why does that story about the gift exchange not surprise me at all - it was like thinking back to high school :). I'm glad you got the nutella. I was thinking about getting some for Andy for Christmas - maybe Santa will bring some?!? Hope you guys have a great Christmas!!! Love ya tons!
