Christmas 2010

Okay I don't know what my problem was this past Christmas season. But it is now over for real. I had the hardest time getting Christmas decorations out in the first place. Mostly because Kohls started pulling all that stuff out the first part of October. So by the time December had come, I was ready for it to be over. Hence why i was kicking and screaming to put a tree up. I really didn't want to. But Joel was pretty persistent. So needless to say our good friends Mama and Papa Gold (our adopted parents out here) were out of the country for six weeks and said we could borrow one of theirs. So we did. We did the whole artificial thing. Which ended up being a bad thing. It looked so nice I just barely took it down on Jan 29th. Finally my house is back to normal. I think I might skip the Valentines Decorations.

So we went down to the Biltmore see the Christmas lights. They where stunning. The tree inside was amazing. Joel and I both picked out an ornament for our tree since they had a whole tree decorated in our red and white and silver theme. This is a picture of Joel's. Its the ornament to the left of his beaded J. I was really surprised by the one he picked.

I love this white dove. I got it many years ago and gave the other one to my friend Stacee Leatham Haws. I wonder if she still has it? I always think about her when I decorate my tree each year.

This is the ornament I picked out at the Biltmore. The silver snowflake with the red edging.

I love that I have had matching paper and ribbon the last few years.

This is an apron kit that I got like a million years ago at a Super Saturday. I finally got around to finishing it. It was pretty easy I don't know why it takes me so long to do things sometimes. I love how it turned out, it will be perfect for Christmas baking. I even got some cool Christmas cookie cutters this year.

We had a quite Christmas this year. On Christmas Eve we went Caroling with the Veech family. We went to 7 different families. It was fun. This reminded me of all the years we would go Christmas Caroling with our good friends the Eager Family on Christmas Eve. Then we would go back to their home read the Christmas Story out of the Bible and drink Bonnie's homemade Hot Chocolate.
We opened our Presents early again this year. Mostly due to Joel working Christmas day. Our dear Packard Family back home in Washington Spoiled us with some very thoughtful and perfect gifts. They made a Scrapbook of there ten favorite things about us. Gave us Bonanza the bean game that we love, but have never bought for ourselves. They also gave me some great books for help in Young Women's.

Your tree was gorgeous, Marta! I have to admit this year I ended up taking mine down earlier than usual with all the hubbub and then Mister's crazy work schedule that I know you can sympathize with. Christmas wore me out! His first day off the tree came down to start the new year off fresh.

I love the apron too. How fun is that?!?

I need your help in decorating my house, Marta. You are awesome! The apron is adorable as well. I hear you on the projects taking forever to get done! Maybe if we lived closer we could motivate each other to get our projects done together :)! That would be SO fun!

Skip Valentine's Day?? Marta, I can tell this is going to be a pre-Valentine's weekend with Joel home not feeling well. Who needs decorations when you have each other, right?
