This World is really actually a Small Place

Over the years I have come to think about how our world at times is actually a small place. How many times have you been on a trip and come across someone in common or someone who knows some of the same people you do. This has happened to many times to remember. So why am I so suprised when it happens. A few years ago when Joel and I went to Brazil we where in the Sao Paulo Temple doing a session. The officator of the session looked so familiar that it distracted me the enitre session. I was bound to figure out who he was before I left there. In the locker room I was asking some of the American Sisters serving there if the officator of the last session was from Washington State and what his name was. Come to find out I did know him. It was President Burton from Wenatchee Washington. I had stayed at his house for Youth Conference as a youth and then my sister Kristen later lived in his Stake. What are the chances of seeing him thousand of miles away from home. Well I guess in the temple maybe its a smaller chance.
But recently we have had a ton of people move into our ward from out west. Two different ladies in the last month who have come have the same degree as I do. Come to find out one of the ladies looked familiar but they both ende up being in my program at Ricks College when I was there. Im so excited to reconnect with them and maybe plan some gardening dates.
Joel also has been able to recconnect with a elder and sister missionary from his mission in Brazil that live in our stake out here.
Its funny where life takes us and how sometimes we are reconnected with others from our past. Maybe this is only in the Church but who cares I think its great.

Marta,

First. I found you!! I am now officially blog stalking you so you better write more.

Second. I'm slightly offended that I didn't make the cut on being mentioned in this post. After all, I thought we had decided that I lived in the most po-dunk part of Idaho not far from the most barren/hick part of Idaho where your parent's honeymooned which makes us PRACTICALLY sisters. Not to mention that we have the same wedding ring! What's a girl got to do around here to get a shout out? hahahahahaha... just kidding!!! :)

Seriously though, I have learned that the world is a lot smaller than I thought. And I'm sure lots of it has to do with the church. Which is just another reason to love it!

I can't believe you can remember whose house you stayed in at Youth Conference!! That's an amazing memory girl. How fun that you've found some old Ricks friends to reconnect with. That is awesome!

Wish we lived closer so we could hang out too :)

It is so true, Marta! It is definitely a small world and Andy always jokes around about how someone always seems to know someone from Moses Lake! It is pretty crazy. How fun for you to have some old friends to reconnect with!

How fun! And how interesting and wonderful our brain is to sotre and remember images. I ran into Sister Slaugh in the temple in WA but it took me a bit to register the face. :)
